Beer is the main character of Qingdao in July. On the evening of July 16, the 31st Qingdao International Beer Festival was grandly opened at the Golden Beach Beer City in the West Coast New Area. The smell of beer wafted over the whole city and Qingdao thus entered a 24-day beer carnival season.

At the opening ceremony, Qingdao was awarded the title of "Capital of Chinese Beer". A four-month authoritative assessment revealed the brand value of the Qingdao International Beer Festival is 36.8 billion yuan ($5.67 billion). This is the first time that the Qingdao International Beer Festival has been evaluated by a domestic authority, which will further enhance the standardization of the industry and promote the high-quality development of the festival economy.

As one of the top ten festivals in China, the Qingdao International Beer Festival has long been famous around the world and has developed into one of the world's top four beer festivals, on par with the Munich Beer Festival in Germany. Since landing in Qingdao's West Coast New Area in 2015, the Qingdao International Beer Festival has reached record highs in terms of internationalization, social influence, economic pull, visitor satisfaction, and media attention. The brand of Qingdao International Beer Festival has been enriched and surpassed time and again, and the international city card of Qingdao West Coast New Area, the "City of Beer", has become more and more shining.

The 31st Qingdao International Beer Festival will be held under the theme of " Colorful Beer Festival "and will show "seven highlights": theme highlighting, beer gathering, tent atmosphere, food features, cultural performances, fashionable activities and leisure experience.

Pure and refreshing beer is always the main character of Qingdao Beer Festival. The 31st Qingdao Beer Festival introduces world-renowned beer brands and brewers, with nine beer tents bringing together more than 1,600 brands of beer from more than 40 countries and regions, with Czech Brouczech beer and Yanjing beer will make their debut as "new friends ". During the festival, Golden Beach Beer City will also carefully organize more than 400 fashion and performing arts activities such as international exchanges, economic and trade displays, fashion shows and parade performances.

Moreover, the 31st Qingdao Beer Festival is more precise and detailed in the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemics, and has developed a comprehensive work plan for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and emergency response plans to create a healthy, safe, secure and comfortable environment for the public and tourists to participate in the festival.
